The proposed Bukidnon Airport Development Project located at Maraymaray, Don Carlos, Bukidnon will have its much-awaited groundbreaking ceremony today, May 4, 2018.
Considered as one of the flagship programs of President Rodrigo Duterte, the proposed airport is designed to have a 2.65-kilometer runway capable of accommodating Airbus 320 and 330, and Boeing 727 and 737 planes and will serve the people of Bukidnon, including nearby provinces.
Based on an article from Mindanao Daily News, the project got a P679 million allocation this year for lot acquisition and initial site development, but the total project cost is still being finalized by Department of Transportation (DOTr).
When completed, residents in Bukidnon and nearby areas won’t have to travel to either Davao or Cagayan de Oro for their flights to Manila.
