Effective May 1, 2018, travelers of Fast Cat can now enjoy the scenery of Misamis Oriental’s coastline after the fast ferry firm finally changed its Opol-Balbagon-Jagna route schedule from nighttime to daytime trips.
In the new schedule released today, Fast Cat departs Opol at 9:00am and arrives at Balbagon Port in Camiguin at 12:45pm. It then departs for Jagna at 3:00pm and arrives in Bohol at 5:45pm. All trips are daily. View the new schedule below.
The change in Fast Cat’s schedule from nighttime to daytime was a big issue during its launch last March 22 as emphasized by Opol Mayor Max Seno (read below).
Because of the nighttime schedule, travelers and tourists could not enjoy the view of the province’s landscape as viewed from the fast ferry. They would rather opt for daytime trips at Balingoan Port. Fast Cat was amenable to the change in schedule to daytime during last month’s launch. With the change to daytime trips now released, it can be presumed that they got the necessary approval from the Maritime Industrial Authority (MARINA).
