The Police Regional Office 10 (PRO-10) has reported a 38.13 percent drastic decrease of crime volume during the 1st quarter of 2018 as compared to the crime statistics recorded in the same period in 2016 and 2017.
In a press release from PIA-10, the region registered 3,276 crimes during the first quarter of this year, a huge drop from 5,714 crimes in 2016 and 5,295 crimes in 2017.
Based on PRO-10’s assessment, the significant drop can be attributed to the diminished presence of illegal drugs in the streets as a result of the intensified anti-illegal drugs campaign.
Accordingly, most of the prevalent crimes are usually drug-related cases like theft, robbery, physical injury, domestic violence, rape, and all forms of abuse.
Further, police has continuously conducted a pro-active approach in its advocacy in various campaigns against all forms of criminality.
