Northern Mindanao Regional Athletic Association (NMRAA) swept all of its final matches in boxing winning six (6) golds while lawn tennis produced 3 more golds as the Tangerine Volts moved up to 6th place going into the final day of the 2018 Palarong Pambansa in Ilocos Sur.

Pinweight Jericho Acaylar, light bantamweight Joshua Jan Odvina, bantamweight Dave Bryan Caspe, light flyweight Mark Lester Durens, flyweight John Earl Palivino and lightweight Wesly Caga beat their respective opponents as NorMin cemented itself as the hotbed in amateur boxing.

In tennis, Mary Aubrey Calma won the gold in secondary girls singles while Malaybalay City’s Angela Buyante and Ozamiz City’s Judy Ann Padilla won gold in the elementary girls tennis doubles event and the two added another gold each with Elsmarie Denopol and Casey Padilla in the team event.

In secondary girls sepak takraw, Northern Mindanao blanked Ilocos Region in the final to win the gold.

As of today, NMRAA now has 23 golds, 18 silvers and 28 bronzes.
