Members of the Cagayan de Oro City Task Force on Cables and Wires (Task Force Hapsay Kable) today formally signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at City Hall signalling the start of removal of the eyesore spaghetti wires along the city’s major streets.

City Mayor Oscar Moreno led the MOU signing together with Task Force Chair Councilor Teodulfo Lao, NTC Regional Director Teodoro Buenavista, Cepalco Vice President Ralph Paguio, Engr. Elpie Paras, RTA Assistant Dep’t Head Engr. Nonito Oclarit, and the Kapisanan Ng Mga Brodkasters Ng Pilipinas – Cagayan de Oro Misamis Oriental Chapter, represented by Tito Monterde. Staff of the different signatories and other stakeholders also witnessed the MOU signing.

The removal of spaghetti wires reportedly will begin tomorrow, Tuesday at Osmena Street near Cogon Market. Accordingly, it will then be a regular daily retrieval of dangling and unused wires until all have been removed.
