University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) recently bagged 2nd place in the just concluded Philippine Startup Challenge 4 (PSC4) held yesterday at the Green Sun Hotel, Chino Roces Avenue in Makati City. PSC4 is the largest startup-competition for college students in the country. This year’s Startup Challenge received 202 entries.
USTP was represented by Team Technogeeks composed of Jeffrey R. Ranolo, Ana Paula Mae A, and Rada Rey Miguel S. Guivencan with Jay Noel N. Rojo as adviser. Their entry is TAPTRACK – a portable RFID based attendance management system with SMS transmission for General Services Cooperative Agri-Field Workers. With TapTrack, field workers use assigned RFID Card to tap in and tap out for attendance and the data will be transmitted via SMS thru a central location. The aggregated data is then used in a web application to process payroll.
