Remember our post ‘Stations of the Cross Above the clouds’ in Manticao a couple of days ago? Here are some updated photos and info.

The specific site is at Dunque Hill in Brgy. Upper Malubog, some 8 kilometers from Brgy. Tuod, the nearest populated village in Manticao town. From the National Highway at the town proper, distance following the road is roughly 21 kilometers. Dunque Hill is the highest point in Western Misamis Oriental that is why the place has numerous radio transmitters, telecommunication towers, and repeaters. The site is also a favorite venue for mountain runners and trekkers. See the map below.

And yesterday, the annual ‘Panaad sa Biyernes Santo’ was participated by hundreds of local townsfolk. The clouds have somewhat cleared allowing a good view of the countryside. Browse over some photos below courtesy of Bernabe Ely.

This is the 14th and final Station.

Stations are placed along the uphill route.

Emergency personnel are present. Because of its high altitude, oxygen is thin so they brought oxygen tanks just in case.

A hearty meal followed…

Spending some time at the top is an awesome experience.

Have a blessed Holy Week.
