‘Stations of the Cross’ is an annual religious tradition among Catholic devotees commemorating Jesus Christ’s last day on Earth and in Cagayan de Oro City and Misamis Oriental, several places have served as modern day ‘Stations of the Cross’ but there’s one place where you will have that heavenly experience with a scenic view literally above the clouds.
The Stations of the Cross at Dunque Hill in Upper Malubog, Manticao is held on a hill where telecommunication towers are built. As one of the highest point in the province, it is a major spot for repeaters, relay stations and other telecommunication towers.
The site is only popular among local devotees since Dunque Hill is roughly some 16 kilometers away from the National Highway from the town proper.
Like in all other areas in the country, the Stations of the Cross is held on Good Friday.
At the 14th station at the top, you’ll have that ‘above the clouds’ experience.
Certainly, the place is heavenly, peaceful and worthy for that spiritual experience.
