Students and the public in general will soon no longer travel to Manila for an “astronomical” experience when the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration (PAG-ASA) starts to build the proposed Planetarium in Molugan, El Salvador City, Misamis Oriental. It will be the first in Mindanao and just the third in the country. This was revealed by Governor Yevgeny Vincente ‘Bambi’ Emano during this morning’s Monday convocation at the Provincial Capitol after a series of consultations with the local community.

The Planetarium is a scientific facility which offers a digital simulated display of the day and night sky including celestial objects. It is an ideal venue for all kinds of astronomic educational tours especially for students and the public in general who want to know more about the universe and other astronomical subjects like constellations, novas, comets and asteroids.

According to the info, construction will start within the year. Keep posted.
