A netizen’s photo of a Cagayan de Oro Roads and Traffic Administration (RTA) officer riding on his motorcycle without a helmet has been the talk of the town particularly among motorists in the city.

Netizen Du Dui’s photos was posted last March 13, 2018 (see below) and has since been shared at least 1,100 times. What made it interesting is that the photo of the RTA officer was taken along Capistrano Street right in front of City Hall. Section 7 of Republic Act No. 10054 or the “Motorcycle Helmet Act of 2009” penalizes a person caught not wearing the standard protective motorcycle helmet P1,500 (1st offense), P3,000 (2nd offense), P5,000 (3rd offense), and P10,000 plus confiscation of driver’s license for 4th and succeeding offense.

The original post has had more than 200 comments mostly criticizing the rider who should have set an example as an enforcer of the law. See below.
