A series of minor quakes rocked parts of Bukidnon including Cagayan de Oro City early Monday morning, January 22, 2018.
The first quake occurred at around 2:54am with a magnitude of 2.9 and followed by another at 3:11am (2.9), 3:16am (2.2) and at 3:56am with the highest magnitude of 3.7 which was felt in the city. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS-DOST) located the epicenter to be in the vicinity of Libona, Bukidnon. All were of tectonic in origin. Despite its low magnitude, the tremors were felt because of its shallow depth.
