Two previous projects in Cagayan de Oro City – the New Agora Complex and Slaughterhouse Redevelopment, are among the successful Public-Private Partnership (PPP) projects recently featured in the PPP website.
The New Agora Complex was a project of the Cagayan de Oro City Government under Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) scheme which was awarded on January 27, 2009 to Mega Integrated Agro-Livestock Farm Corporation (MEGA FARM) with a 25-year cooperation period. MEGA FARM now operates and maintains the Agora Integrated Bus Terminal and Wet Market. The project includes redevelopment of the 2.4-hectare complex with a terminal for public utility vehicles, wet and dry market, commercial rentable stalls and premises, vegetables and fruits landing and trading areas.
Meanwhile, the Redevelopment of the City Slaughterhouse Project of the Cagayan de Oro City Government was also in partnership with Mega Integrated Agro-Livestock Farm Corporation (MEGA FARM) wherein the old city slaughterhouse was converted into a 2.45-hectare modern Abattoir Complex containing a slaughterhouse for small and large animals and support facilities such as water treatment, livestock auction market, deep well water source, and meat delivery vans, among others. The project also has a cooperation period of 25 years.
