The local government of Opol and Philippine Archipelago Ports and Terminal Services Inc., the company which owns the first and only catamaran fast ferry services in the country, formally signed the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) yesterday for the operations of Fast Cat in Opol, Misamis Oriental.
Present during the signing were Opol Municipal Mayor Max Seno and Vice Mayor Chizarina M. Ortigoza and Mr. Redentor C. Santos, President of Philippine Archipelago Ports and Terminal Services Inc. Other heads of offices of the municipality witnessed the milestone event together with other Opolanons and invited guests.
Fast Cat will use the newly-renovated and converted passenger terminal (see below) at Opol Municipal Fish Port to serve the Opol – Camiguin and Opol – Jagna, Bohol routes and vice-versa.
The exact date for the inaugural trips including schedules and rates have not been disclosed yet as of this post. Meanwhile, air-conditioned shuttle transfer services will also be available at Gaisano City to ferry passengers to and from Fast Cat Opol Terminal.
