1-Transport Equipment Aggregator and Management Inc. (1-TEAM), a private firm that has been operating e-jeepneys in Marikina City since 2014, will be road testing fifteen units of its prototype e-jeepneys in Cagayan de Oro City soon as part of the government’s PUV modernization program.
Accordingly, these vehicles (e-jeepneys) are fully air-conditioned and equipped with a global positioning system (GPS), onboard Wi-Fi, dashcam, a swiping machine for the fare and a ramp for the persons with disabilities (PWD). Each unit can accommodate more than 20 passengers who will use swipe cards which can be loaded at convenience stores and cellphone loaders.
As initially proposed, the e-jeepney route will be from Puerto (CDO) to Igpit (Opol) passing through the Coastal Road). Said proposal is now pending at the City Council of Cagayan de Oro.
