The 500-strong 65th Infantry (Stalwart) Battalion of the 9th Infantry Division, Philippine Army has arrived in Cagayan de Oro City last January 10, 2018 to boost the 4th Infantry Division (4ID) in its peacekeeping functions and allay fears of the people in Northern Mindanao on the threats posed by the terrorists NPA as well as support the army’s capability in responding to natural and manmade calamities.
The army battalion was formally welcomed at the Headquarters of the 4th Infantry Division at Camp Evangelista.
Accordingly, the deployment of the 65IB would help hasten 4ID’s operations to defeat the terrorist NPA and its full might shall be employed against the armed terrorist group and initiate community-based dialogues to enlighten the members of illegal secret associations organized by the terrorist NPAs in the villages.
