The proposed New Diversion Drainage Line connecting Bitan-ag Creek to Kolambog Creek is among several big-ticket drainage projects in Cagayan de Oro City lined up for implementation this year by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

The said drainage project has a budget of P105 million. This project aims to reduce the volume flowing into Bitan-ag Creek towards Limketkai area by construction a new channel to Kolambog Creek in Lapasan. Initial plans indicate the diversion will start upstream near Camaman-an Elementary School. Route of the Bitan-ag-Kolambog Drainage Line is viewed in the link below.

Another big budgeted project (P90 million) is the Bitan-ag Diversion Drainage Line connecting the existing Bitan-ag Creek at Limketkai to the ongoing Agora subterranean canal. No details are available yet as to the approved route of the drainage line but in the initial information last year revealed the project will involve construction of a new drainage diversion line from Bitan-ag Creek (at the back of PNB) and goes under Puregold before connecting to the subterranean canal along Agora Road.

The next big drainage project is the P55 million New Drainage Channel along Westbound Terminal Road straight towards Macajalar Bay. This will ease the drainage flow along Sapang Creek. View other multi-million drainage projects in the city below.
