The rehabilitation and recovery of affected wells of the Cagayan de Oro Water District (COWD) is going well that the water utility is hoping to achieve full recovery before New Year.
Based on COWD’s latest advisory, six (6) out of the eight (8) wells in Nazareth and Macasandig are now operational and have been fed to the system. The remaining two (2) production wells (PW), PWs 1 and 7, await water quality result today or tomorrow before they can be commissioned back. This brings to 29% the supply shortfall to the Central Service Area. In the west side, supply from PW No. 19 in Balulang has been fed to the system yesterday afternoon while PW No. 24 is being fixed for energization and flushing today. Therefore, supply shortfall to the west side has been reduced to 2%.
