In the aftermath of Tropical Storm Sendong (international name: Washi) in December 2011, the unfinished multi-billion Paseo del Rio Complex in Cagayan de Oro City was a fixture in every aerial photo as a living reminder of the destruction brought by the natural calamity.

Six years later, Tropical Storm Vinta (international name: Tembin) basically reenacted Sendong bringing heavy rainfall in the watersheds of Cagayan de Oro River inundating riverside properties particularly in the downstream areas including Paseo del Rio, a mixed use complex built on a riverside property in Cagayan de Oro City.

Today, the complex hosts two schools (Liceo de Cagayan University Senior High School and Academy for International Education, a newly opened food park (Tent Avenue) and some entertainment bars. Just the same, the horrors of Sendong was relived. Here are photos at ground level courtesy of Ace Diaz.
