Private hospitals in Cagayan de Oro City and the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (Philhealth) formally signed today a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on the implementation of the No Deposit Policy in relation to Republic Act 10932 or the Anti-Hospital Deposit Law.

Present during the MOA signing are Datu Masiding Alonto, Area Vice President for Mindanao and representatives of various private hospitals in the city, namely: Dr. Ruben Go of Polymedic Velez and Medical Plaza, Dr. Miguel Kho of Madonna and Child Hospital, Dr. Jesus Jardin of Capitol University Medical Center, Mr. Dexter Garcia of Cagayan de Oro Medical Center, Dr. Michael Sabal of Sabal Hospital Inc. and SPC Sr. Mercy Corazon Bangot of Maria Reyna-Xavier Hospital.

The MOA signing is said to be the first in the country between the government, private and public hospitals in giving the best and quality medical care the people of Cagayan de Oro needed.

Meanwhile, Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Oscar Moreno cited Philhealth under the Datu Alonto’s leadership for the milestone signing. Other attendees include City Councilor Maria Lourdes Gaane, City Councilor George Goking and Atty. Carlo Franco Thomas Limjoco of the Department of Health (DoH).
