The installation of street lights along the 4.46-kilometer newly-opened Lapasan-Gusa Section of the Coastal Road in Cagayan de Oro City will be completed by the second quarter of next year. This was revealed by DPWH spokesperson Vinah Maghinay who added that the budget for the lighting fixtures is expected to be released by that time.

Meanwhile, the Roads and Traffic Administration (RTA) is studying a proposal to close the Coastal Road at night up to early dawn due to the absence of street lights. This after a series of vehicular accidents which resulted to fatalities occurred along the Coastal Road barely two weeks since the opening.
