With the 4.46-kilometer Lapasan-Gusa Section of the Coastal Road now open to traffic, it would just be a matter of time before the City Government will have it renamed.
The project name as referred by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is Cagayan de Oro Coastal Bypass Road. But sooner or later, since this is now officially part of the city, this will have to be renamed. Most city roads are named after local and national heroes and other famous people or even a historical event.
