The City Government of Cagayan de Oro is now in the thick of preparations for the opening of the Coastal Road Project which is set to be opened on November 15, 2017. A coordination meeting among concerned government agencies was recently conducted to discuss a variety of issues related to the opening such as implementation of a new traffic rerouting scheme, removal of obstructions along Agora Road, notices for permanent structures obstructing area, among others.

Agencies in the meeting include the Roads and Traffic Administration (RTA), Office of City Building Official (OBO), Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), City Engineers Office (CEO), City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD) and the Philippine National Police (PNP).

The scheduled opening to traffic of the Coastal Road Project was announced by DPWH Secretary Mark Villar during his visit to the city last August after successfully resolving the right-of-way issue at a coastal property in Lapasan.
