Cagayan de Oro City’s pastry duo of Aldrin Fajardo and Richard Mark Toloza bagged 2nd place in the recent Mindanao eliminations held at the University of Mindanao Matina Campus in Davao City to barge into the Manila Grand Finals of the 1st Tinapay Natin Pinoy Bread Baking Competition which is organized by Pilmico Foods Corporation in partnership with Max’s Corner Bakery.
Based on information taken from the competition’s official Facebook page, CDO’s team produced Durian Ensaymada (Regional Bread) and Pan Bisaya (Modern Bread).
Twelve teams coming from all over Mindanao competed for the top 2 slots during the Mindanao eliminations. The teams were given four hours to bake a regional bread and another one with a modern twist, both recipes developed by the participants.
Davao’s Pancho Galvez Jr & Marven Mangubat won first place with their Cream Cheese Streusel Roll (Regional Bread) Dubemago Cheese bread (Modern Bread).
