Residents in the western part of Cagayan de Oro and in Opol town will have to wait another week of low pressure to no water as the pipeline repair of Rio Verde’s damaged underwater pipe can only start after the completion of the cofferdam which will allow the much needed repair work.

Based on the latest posting on Cagayan de Oro Water District’s website, Rio Verde is currently constructing a cofferdam which will enclose the work area to enable workers to conduct welding/repair of the damaged underwater pipe. If the work is completed on schedule, Rio Verde could supply 60 million liters per day (MLD) by October 16. See screenshot of update below.

As such, water delivery will still continue to affected areas.
