Corrales Avenue is one of Cagayan de Oro City’s main roads connecting the City Proper to the National Highway (CM Recto Avenue) and towards Cagayan de Oro Port Area (Corrales Extension).

Although it has 4 lanes, only 2 lanes are effectively being utilized since much of the outside lane is being used as roadside parking by commercial establishments.

Corrales is also where you can find two universities namely: Xavier University and Capitol University; two malls, Centrio and Gaisano and one hospital, Northern Mindanao Medical Center.

Today, it is now considered a culinary and lifestyle destination with new restaurants, bars, and shops opening in the last few years.

With two high-rise condominiums now shadowing (featured photo), who knows, Corrales could become much denser in the next few years with more modern buildings replacing old structures, and this could become another headache for the city’s urban planners.
