Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Oscar Moreno is facing yet another graft case this time for a lease contract for a building intended for the city’s Sports Development Program for Professional and Amateur Boxing.
In a news report from Manila Bulletin, Moreno was charged for violating Section 3(e) of R.A. 3019 or the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act when he entered into a lease contract of a building owned by Engr. Jimmy Caina without the authority from the city council.
Also charged together with Moreno were City Budget Officer Percy Gonzales Salazar and City Accountant Beda Joy Elot.
A bail bond of P30,000 each has been set for the respondents.
It can be recalled that the Office of the Ombudsman suspended Moreno last year for the said offense. Read related article in the link below.
