If you want to see both Kitanglad and Kalatungan Mountain Ranges at the same time and at the same place, then head on to the new Viewing Deck at Donggawan in Barangay Tagbak in Talakag town, Bukidnon.
The Donggawan Viewing Deck is located along Ticalaan-Alanib-Aglayan Road or the Talakag-Malaybalay Highway and is the newest tourist site in Talakag town offering a good vantage point of both protected mountain ranges. It is more or less 2 hours and 15 minutes from Cagayan de Oro.
As shown above, you can capture the landscape showing both mountain ranges using a wide angle lens camera. Kitanglad is shown on the left and Kalatungan on the right. The photo above was just stitched.
As shown in the map below, Donggawon View Deck is more or less 15 minutes travel time from Bonseta’s Fun Fun Rides, which we have featured last July (Read HERE). It’s all 2-lane concrete road except for a short section of about 350-400 meters (road under construction-ongoing concreting) as indicated in the map below.
Here’s another map showing its exact location in between the mountain ranges.
The View Deck is also owned by the same owner of Talakag Bonseta’s Fun Fun Rides…note the 24-Seven Convenience Store.
It has ample parking space.
Some picnic tables for travelers. In the background is Kalatungan Mountain Range. The peak however is covered mostly with clouds at this time of the year.
Here’s a clearer shot of Kalatungan with the highway towards Lantapan and Aglayan in Malaybalay in the foreground.
The View Deck is a good stopover for snacks and refreshments.
There are also cottages at the View Deck. Kitanglad Mountain Range is seen in the background.
Here’s the View Deck. We had to wait for a while for the clouds to clear revealing the mountain peaks.
Accordingly, the view is best during summer when both mountain ranges are clear.
