If you’re a keen observer of small diners offering delicious affordable food, then you wouldn’t miss J2J Fastfood & Café located along Don Apolinar Velez Street near the corner of Archbishop Hayes Street in downtown Cagayan de Oro City.
The small café with just four tables offers authentic Italian pizza and pasta with its Eduardo Diego deliciously Italiana menu, a carefully crafted list created by the owners who spent several years with La Tegola, one of the city’s longest running Italian restaurant.
The cafe’s interiors bring you to a cobblestone street somewhere in Italy. As shown below, the wall art creates a positive visual effect eliminating the feel of claustrophobia.
On the other corner is another small table with a wall art of gondolas and a canal depicting a Venetian scene.
Among its best sellers are Spaghetti Pomodoro, Spaghetti Marinara, Pizza Bolognese and Classic Pizza Margarita. They also have special combo meals. All meals are really affordable.
Shown below are the owners John Eduard Quintano, Jr. (standing) and Jeigfred Pakino (sitting). J2J is a combination of their names John and Jeig. The two met at La Tegola where John was a manager and Jeig was a graphic artist making promotional posters for the restaurant. When La Tegola folded up, they decided to put up the diner. Last August 28 was the diner’s first anniversary.
Eduardo Diego is their Italian brand and also an Italianized combination of their names Eduard and Jeig. See the full Italian menu below.
Just in case you’re not inclined to Italian pizza and pasta, they also have another menu composed of favorite Filipino dishes like Special Pancit Noodles, Pancit Chicken Rice Meal, and Pancit Adobo Rice Meal, among others.
