The Philippines’ John Vincent Pangga dominated United Arab Emirates’ Saif Al-Kharoosi right from the starting bell forcing the referee to stop the fight in the very first round to advance to the semifinals in the ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships held in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.

The Cagayan de Oro native Pangga, a protégé of Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Oscar Moreno, scored a Referee Stopped Contest (RSC) of his flyweight bout (50 kg) against a visibly outclassed boxer from the United Arab Emirates.

In the semifinals, Pangga will now face Kazakhstan’s Talgat Syrymbetov who scored a similar RSC in round 3 against Tandin Wangchuk of Bhutan.
