National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Director General and Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Ernesto Pernia expects that Cagayan de Oro and Northern Mindanao as a whole will weather the storm of the Marawi crisis and the extension of martial law.

Pernia said despite the city’s proximity to the conflict area, it’s still business as usual. He further stated that martial law makes people feel safe in going on with their business.
