President Rodrigo Duterte has just appointed former Iligan City Mayor Atty. Franklin M. Quijano as administrator and chief executive officer of the Philippine Veterans Investment Development Corporation (PHIVIDEC) Industrial Authority. He was also designated member of the PHIVIDEC Board of Directors. Quijano’s appointment was signed last July 14. LINK
Born in Dansalan, now Marawi City, he is fluent in Maranao, Ilonggo, Chavacano and Cebuano. He finished his elementary as Class Valedictorian, Second Honorable Mention in high school (La Salle-Iligan), and Cum Laude in AB Economics at University of San Carlos in Cebu.
In 2002, he was given “The Most Outstanding City Mayor of the Philippines, Local Government Leadership Award”. Quijano was Iligan City Mayor from 1998-2004.
Quijnao is the Regional Party Chairman of the Partido Demokratikong Pilipino (PDP)-LABAN for Region X and during the 2016 Presidential Elections, he was able to deliver the winning votes in landslide for Mayor Duterte of Davao City now the President of the Republic of the Philippines.
