Pint-sized Kagay-anon guard Kent Salado atoned for his missed charities earlier to sink a game winning shot over the outstretched arms of JRU’s 6’8 Cameroonian center Abdouladif Poutouochi to give the Arellano Chiefs a 73-72 squeaker over the JRU Bombers yesterday in the ongoing NCAA Season 93 at the Filoil Flying V Center in San Juan.
In a report from Spin.com, Salado could have won the game outright for Arellano in regulation but he muffed two free throws with 9.8 seconds left with the Chiefs leading, 62-59 allowing the Bombers to force overtime with Jed Mendoza’s triple.
In overtime, Salado saved the day for Arellano by getting the ball with 4 seconds left and hitting the floater off the glass and into the net for their 2nd win in three games.
Watch his game-winning shot below.
Salado finished with 25 points, eight assists, and six rebounds now becoming the squad’s go-to-guy with the departure of star guard Jio Jalalon to the pros.
