This aerial shot of the bumper-to-bumper traffic at Paseo del Rio in Cagayan de Oro City was taken before the closure of Ysalina Bridge.
This traffic is heaviest during the late afternoon rush hour and extends towards the early evening. As shown, it is motorists on the west-bound (going to Carmen) lanes who are greatly affected. A log-jam at Rodelsa Circle leads to a traffic that sometimes extends towards Kagay-an Bridge and Vamenta Boulevard-Masterson Avenue Junction, Tomas Saco Street in Nazareth and Fernandez (formerly Dolores) Street.
With the closure of Ysaline Bridge at least for this week, the volume of vehicular traffic in the area has increased. This isn’t just a headache of motorists and the Roads and Traffic Administration (RTA) but of the general commuting public.
