Installation of a waterproofing membrane on the deck of Ysalina Bridge in Cagayan de Oro City is now underway as motorists continue to endure heavy traffic as a result of the bridge closure.

As shown below, contractors are placing a layer of the membrane on the surface while pedestrians continue to cross the bridge. Note rolls of the layer on the side.

The new layer is expected to prolong the life of the bridge.

After this layer of membrane, another layer of asphalt will reportedly be placed on top.

The work is targeted for completion on Sunday, July 16.
