Northern Mindanao’s little leaguers representing the Philippines put on a batting show early routing India, 11-1, in their first game in the 2017 Asia Pacific Regional Little League Baseball Championship (Intermediate Division) held at Hwaseong Dream Park in Hwaseong, Korea.
The Philippines scored 10 runs in the first two innings to set the tone of the game en route for their first victory in the tournament.
Aside from the win, Northern Mindanao’s elementary baseball team also became the first Philippine team to play at the newly opened Hwaseong Dream Park, considered to be Asia’s largest baseball complex which opened just last June 9, 2017. The park is a 242,000-square-meter complex, and houses eight ballparks, including four for players in elementary school and one for female players. Here’s an aerial photo of the complex.
