Two young kids from Cagayan de Oro will be representing the country in three junior golf tournaments in the United States next month. Kiara Therese Zaldivar Montebon and Matthew Miguel “Iggy” Fabiala will be competing in two golf tournaments in San Diego, California and one in Las Vegas, Nevada.
More details in SunStar CDO.
Both 11-year old Kiara and 10-year old Iggy have previously represented the Philippines last year in the Kids World Golf Competition held in Johor Baru, Malaysia.
As stated in the article, the kids’ biggest fans are their mothers – Ethel Zaldivar Montebon and Zarah Sabio Fabiala, who serve as their drivers, caddies and companions in the tournaments they participated.
Both Kiara and Iggy go to Abba’s Orchard School. They have been playing golf for three years now and have so far won several medals between them.
At a young age, they are considered one of the country’s rising stars in junior golf.
