Embattled Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Oscar Moreno got a reprieve after the Court of Appeals (CA) granted today, June 28, his petition for a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) against the dismissal order issued by the Ombudsman over anomalous equipment lease deals when he was still governor of Misamis Oriental. The TRO will be for a 60-day period.

Moreno supporters have been camping outside the Executive Building since Monday.

It can be recalled that the Ombudsman in a ruling last June 8, ordered the dismissal from service of Moreno along with seven others after they were found guilty of graft charges stemming from the lease of heavy equipment without conducting any public bidding. Read link below.
