Clients of Land Bank of the Philippines will have to re-schedule their planned banking transactions this weekend after the bank announced it will have a scheduled downtime from 10:30pm of June 24 (Saturday) to 3:00pm of June 25 (Sunday), 2017 due to a system upgrade and maintenance activities in compliance to Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas’s mandate to adopt the Europay Mastercard Visa (EMV) technology.

The announcement was posted on Land Bank’s official Facebook page (see below). As such, all electronic banking services including ATMs, Cash Deposit Machines, as well as mobile banking services will not be available during the period.

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas had earlier given all Philippine banks a June 30, 2018 deadline to fully adopt the Europay Mastercard Visa (EMV) technology, which makes use of microchip-based rather than magnetic strip cards for its depositors and credit card holders.
