Laguindingan Airport is expected to hit the 1.9 million passengers mark by year-end. Its Passenger Terminal Building has already exceeded its design capacity of 1.6 million when it opened in 2013.
In an article at Kagay-an.com, CAAP Area Manager Jose Budiongan said the airport can still accommodate more flights in certain periods of the day. Laguindingan Airport which serves Cagayan de Oro and Iligan Cities and nearby provinces will also soon have a separate area (Gate 3) for Business Class passengers of flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL). Does this mean there will also be a Mabuhay Lounge soon? Accordingly, the Duty Free Shop will also be relocated.
