Two proponents of theme parks – Cartoon Network and Six Flags have initially planned to build in Cagayan de Oro City but reportedly changed plans after the Marawi siege. This was revealed by Elmer Francisco, adviser to the director general of Peza for North America and Asean.

In a report from Inquirer.net, the two theme parks is worth around P1 billion each and would have generated more than a thousand jobs. Accordingly, the proponents are now focusing in building them in Central Luzon.

Notable among Cartoon Network’s theme parks is the Amazone Waterpark located in Chonburi, Thailand (LINK) while Six Flags is the world’s largest amusement park company with at least 20 sites in North America (LINK).
