Four suspected members of the Maute group were killed and 3 police officers were injured after a police convoy was reportedly ambushed by still unidentified gunmen Saturday night (June 10, 2017) in Pantar town, Lanao del Norte.
In a report from Rappler.com, the alleged Maute members were previously arrested last June 8 along with Farhana Maute, the wanted mother of the Maute brothers and were on board the police convoy which was headed to Cagayan de Oro City when the ambush happened near the border of Pantar and Balo-i. The Maute members were brought to a hospital in Iligan City where they were pronounced dead.
The incident was also confirmed by Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana during a press conference early today in Cagayan de Oro. Watch it below.
