Cagayan de Oro City’s Mark Lester J. Durens, John Vincent Pangga, Regemelyr Namocatcat and Jorge Nuez won in their respective weight categories in the just concluded Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) – Association of Boxing Alliances of the Philippines (ABAP) Juniors Championships held May 17 at the Cebu City Sports Complex.

In a report from Cebu Daily News, Durens started CDO’s onslaught with a Referee-Stopped-Contest (RSC) victory over Cebu’s Charles Batiancila in the 46-kg division. Namocatcat followed suit with a points win over Cebu City’s Mike Joshua Tallo in the 48-kg category. Meanwhile, Pangga outdueled John Loue Cliridad of Negros Occidental in the 50-kg and Nuez clobbered Cebu City’s Denmar Cardeno in the 54-kg class.

With their victories, the four CDO pugs will now have a greater chance to be part of the Philippine Youth Team which will see action in the Asian Juniors Boxing Championships set August 1-8, 2017 in Davao City and the 2018 AIBA Youth World Boxing Championship.
