Cagayan de Oro City’s Alcer Lozada and Ely Fernandez brought honor to the city and the country by bagging bronze medals in the tough World Association of Kickboxing Organization (Wako) Asian Kickboxing Championships held April 24-30 at the Martial Arts Arena of Olympic Village City in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.
Both Lozada and Fernandez drew byes in the preliminaries but settled for bronzes after facing tough opponents in the semifinals. Lozada lost to Farhod Rasulov of Tajikistan in 74-kg while Fernandez lost to Daston Artukbaev of Kyrgyztan in 51-kg weight class. See the results below.
