The Cagayan de Oro City Government yesterday commended three members of the Bomb Squad Unit of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO) for displaying exemplary expertise and splendid performance by helping a tourist recover her lost belongings.
City Administrator Dionnie Gersana presented plaques of recognition and gave P10,000 cash incentive each to PO2 Imer Mabaylan Jr., PO2 Stanley Pinguit and PO3 Lyndon Ramiro during yesterday’s Monday convocation program.
It can be recalled that in April this year, COCPO received a letter from Christine Faith Cortez, a tourist from Dublin, Ireland, detailing the good performance of the three policemen in helping her track and recover her belongings which she accidentally left at a taxi’s compartment while she was vacationing in the city in March. In the letter, she specifically wrote this statement…
“I AM VERY HAPPY TO INFORM YOU PSSUPT BAHIAN THAT YOU HAVE A VERY GOOD POLICE FORCE IN YOUR MIDST, THROUGH YOUR VERY DISCIPLINE MEN, VERY EFFICIENT AND HELPFUL POLICEMEN, I AM VERY PROUD TO SAY THAT THEY ARE THE VERY EXPERIENCED IN HANDLING THIS CASE AND I SALUTE THEM FOR A JOB WELL DONE!”
As a summary, the three police officers tracked down the taxi thru the CCTV footage and successfully retrieved her bag. Read her letter in full below.
May your excellent police work be an inspiration to the entire police force.
