Cagayan de Oro City has long been known as an adventure city with its famed whitewater rafting, the nature-treks at Mapawa and as jump-off points to major zip lining thrills in the region. And just recently, PARAGLIDING may have completed the adventure bucket list in CDO.

At Sierra del Oro in Barangay Indahag, a mere 15-20 minutes from the downtown area, a paragliding launch pad is built on the state-of-the-art rooftop of Hugo Skye Lounge with a breathtaking view of Mother Nature’s lush greens and the Cagayan de Oro River to the west and a bit of the city’s skyline in the north.

The P2,500 one-way “airfare” is way cheaper than those of other paragliding facilities across the archipelago (ranging from P3,500 and up). Your paraglide pilots are trained and licensed to ensure your safety and enjoyment during take-off, while airborne and upon landing. A clement weather will let you enjoy the full view of Camiguin Island. When you’re lucky, you can witness a dramatic sunset to end your day of adventure.

Not only that. You are also helping the youth. Some Sierra del Oro paragliding crews come from Sarangani Province who belong to the B’laan Tribe, one the Indigenous Peoples of Southern Mindanao. You are helping them build a career. It’s not always about the money. Think about sharing experience with them – the unforgettable Kagay-anon paragliding experience!
