Construction of the 45-meter Igpit Bridge in Opol, Misamis Oriental is set to be completed this month and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has just released its latest travel advisory for the launching of the bridge’s girders for the period April 5-8, 2017.
As stated below, motorists are advised of a “stop and go” scheme on the upstream side (eastbound lanes) as the girders – the bridge’s main structure will be put in place. The work is scheduled between 10:00pm and 3:00am the following day when traffic is light. Still, the advisory is for the general public especially those travelling at night.
It can be recalled that motorists experienced a nightmarish traffic in early March of this year after a portion of the bridge approach collapsed. View it HERE.
