President Rodrigo Roa Duterte is in Cagayan de Oro today, April 2, 2017 to visit wounded soldiers at Camp Evangelista Station Hospital in Cagayan de Oro City.
At least 10 wounded-in-action (WIA) soldiers are currently confined at the said hospital recuperating from wounds sustained in various military offensive operations in the area of responsibility of the 4th Infantry Division (4ID).
In his media interview, the President set out four main conditions for the peace talks with the communist rebels to continue. They are as follows:
1. There must be a signed document establishing parameters of peace talks;
2. There shall be no extortion by the rebels or revolutionary tax;
3. The communist rebels cannot claim any state or territory;
4. They communist rebels must release all prisoners whether police, military, civilian or government employee.
