After its Cinderella title finish at the NBTC National High School Championship, Cagayan de Oro’s Assumption Montessori School is suddenly pushed into the limelight.
Since their 72-71 win over St. Jude College Cavite to win the historic title, the little-known school has become the city’s toast in basketball. A lot of sports writers are suddenly asking about the AMS and reporting of its humble beginnings including its small mini-court. Read Reuben Terrado’s article at Spin.ph.
With its title-finish, who knows some of its players might be recruited to play in bigger schools in Manila.
Anyway, lets just enjoy the fact that for the first time in basketball history, a tiny school in Cagayan de Oro has become the new kings of the hardcourt.
