The street lamps of the Linear Park Project beside Bitan-ag Creek in Barangay 22 has just been switched on.
Implemented by the Hapsay Sapa Council with Patrick Gabutina as Focal Person and in close coordination with USTP, XU, CLENRO, OBO, City Engineering Office, CSWD, CIO, City Assessors Office, EMD, CPSO, DENR, CEPALCO, COWD, UN Habitat, and Barangay 22 officials, this small park beside Bitan-ag Creek is the pilot project by the group which is tasked to rehabilitate the city’s major creeks.
Accordingly, it took two years for the pilot project to be completed beginning with relocation and allocating setback from the creek, paving of roadway, construction of benches and installation of lamps.
The establishment of the park allows easy access for heavy equipment to help maintain the creek, and access for emergency vehicles, among others. The next part is the planned extension of the park towards CM Recto Avenue which is another challenge.
