The Department of Trade and Industry – Misamis Oriental Provincial Office (DTI-MOR) recently conducted the destruction of confiscated uncertified and/or substandard Christmas lights at its new office located at the ground floor of State Investment Trust Inc. Building along Tiano Bros. and Arch. Hayes Streets, Cagayan de Oro City.
The destruction which was conducted last February 28, 2017 was witnessed by members of the Cagayan de Oro City Local Price Coordinating Council (CDO-CPCC).
The destructed goods were seized during the Christmas lights monitoring and enforcement activities in October last year covering 30 business establishments in Cagayan de Oro City wherein one was found to have violated Department Administrative Order No. 2, Series of 2007 for selling uncertified and/or substandard Christmas lights.
After due notice and hearing, the said establishment was ordered to pay an administrative fine; and, to permanently cease and desist from further selling uncertified/substandard products. Pursuant to existing regulations, all the goods rendered non-compliant are to be declared forfeited and are to be disposed outside the channels of commerce.
